Neil Armstrong said, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Sometimes I think our minds would have us believe that the next step we want to take in growing our business or changing our health or fixing our relationship, is as far-fetched as walking on the moon.
The truth is, life is a journey and change is a process, lived out over time and experience. Old patterns, habits and ways of thinking have to be discovered, dealt with and replaced with new habits and new ways of thinking.
As a former bystander or should I say recovering bystander, seeking the path of least resistance was my primary modus operandi. Each and every day, I am making choices that either reflect my new way of life or my old way of life.
Why is it so hard to stay motivated to reach our goals? I think the answer lies in understanding the differences between motivation and inspiration. Inspiration trumps motivation.
